This policy describes the browser extension and this project website. The extension currently works with ChatGPT. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with OpenAI.

In short

• Your conversations are processed in your browser to create exports you request.
• The extension developer does not receive your conversations, account credentials, or exported files.
• The extension does not include analytics, advertising, or a developer-operated collection server.
• Optional access to other websites is used only if you enable it and choose to download external media.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

ChatGPT conversation content and related website data are accessed only when you use the extension and only to export or manage conversations you select. The extension processes this data locally and does not send it to the developer, sell it, or use it for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes. It does not make conversation data available for human review unless you choose to share a diagnostic log. Requests needed to retrieve or delete conversations are sent to ChatGPT at your direction. The extension's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

What the extension accesses

When you use it on ChatGPT, the extension reads the conversation or history data available to your signed-in session. This can include conversation text, titles, timestamps, project or archive information, and links or metadata for images and files. It uses the active ChatGPT session in memory to authenticate requests to ChatGPT endpoints for listing, retrieving, exporting, or deleting conversations. It does not store access tokens or include them in exports or diagnostic logs. It only requests deletion if you explicitly enable automatic deletion before a history export or choose a deletion action in the conversation picker.

These requests go to ChatGPT/OpenAI, not to the extension developer. ChatGPT’s own privacy policy and terms govern how that service handles your account and these requests.

Where processing and storage happen

Export files are assembled and downloaded by your browser. The extension has no export backend and does not upload conversation contents to the developer. Settings are stored in the extension’s local browser storage. Progress and resumable job state may be stored locally by the extension while a task is running. A diagnostic log, if generated, is saved locally so you can download it; it is not sent automatically.

Diagnostic logs are designed to omit conversation text, message bodies, authentication tokens, cookies, and query strings. They may contain technical information such as extension version, timestamps, operation stages, error type/status, capability results, and a conversation title associated with a failed item. Review a log before sharing it publicly.

External images and files

Permission to access external websites is optional. If granted and you select an export option that downloads media hosted outside ChatGPT, the extension requests that media directly from its host. Those requests omit browser credentials and the referrer. The host may still receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address. If you do not grant permission, the export can keep links instead of downloading those resources.

Deletion actions

Before a history export, you may explicitly enable automatic deletion of conversations exported successfully. If enabled, deletion requests start after the export files have been created and their downloads have been started, without another confirmation. The browser cannot verify that you kept the downloaded files. Otherwise, deletion requires a separate action in the conversation picker. Requests are sent to ChatGPT using your active session; deletion is not performed by this website or the extension developer. ChatGPT may take up to 10 minutes to remove a conversation from the visible history, and its service determines the subsequent handling and retention of deleted data. Deletion may be irreversible.

Website hosting

This informational site is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request data under its own privacy policy. The site does not use analytics, advertising trackers, or non-essential cookies.

Retention and your choices

The developer does not have a copy of your conversations to retain or delete. You control files downloaded to your device and can clear the extension’s local data through your browser’s extension settings. You can revoke optional external-site permission at any time in the browser’s add-on settings.

Children

This extension is a general-purpose archive tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
